Job Purpose
Working as part of the Housing Team, the successful candidate will assist in the provision of a high-quality housing management service to tenants on HAIL’s housing schemes. A desire to pursue a career in housing is essential, as well as working with a vulnerable client group.
Salary Scale
Starting at €30,082 with annual increments.
2-year fixed term contract with possible extension after successful completion of the programme.
Job Information
Full-time position (35 hours/week), Monday to Friday. Some evening work may be required.

HAIL (Housing Association for Integrated Living) is an Approved Housing Body with over 480 properties. Founded in 1985, HAIL is Ireland’s specialist mental health housing association.
We provide high-quality social housing and tenancy sustainment services to help people live independently in their homes and communities. Our support services help tenants with mental health recovery, household and budget management, education and employment, and maintaining social connections.

Trainee Programme Includes
-
Enrolment in a HAIL-approved Housing Studies course (or recent graduate).

Participation in workshops and training over 2 years.
-
On-the-job experience under the guidance of a Senior Housing Officer.

Management of a small housing patch.
-
Continuous performance reviews and mentoring.
-
Potential progression into a Housing Officer role after completion.
Key Responsibilities
Lettings & Allocations
-
Assist with letting and allocations per HAIL policy.
-
Build relationships with local authorities and referral agencies.
-
Support tenant interviews and pre-tenancy programmes.
Rent
-
Support rent and service charge systems.
-
Monitor arrears and help manage bad debt.
Estate Management
-
Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with standards.
-
Address Anti-Social Behaviour and tenancy breaches.
Maintenance
-
Assist with repairs and maintenance scheduling.
-
Ensure repair quality and oversee void property preparation.
Tenant Engagement
-
Participate in HAIL’s Tenant Enrichment & Partnership Strategy.

Support tenant forums and community partnerships.
Organisation
-
Maintain tenant records and housing management systems.

Assist with reporting and policy development.
Other

Comply with health & safety standards.

Promote HAIL in all activities.

Person Specification
Education/Qualifications
-
Recent graduate of a relevant course or office experience with willingness to undertake training – Required
Professional Requirements

Background in Property, Social Science, or related field – Preferred
Skills & Experience

1+ year in a customer-focused role – Required

Experience working with vulnerable groups – Preferred

Strong communication & organisation skills

Knowledge of the not-for-profit/social housing sector

Report writing and attention to detail

Intermediate IT skills

Full driving license and access to a car – Required
